Barksdale AFB declares public health emergency
Following recent updates from national and state leaders, the commander of the Barksdale Air Force Base facility declared a public health emergency at the base.
BARKSDALE AFB, Louisiana (KSLA) - Following recent updates from national and state leaders, the commander of the Barksdale Air Force Base facility has declared a public health emergency at the base.
The level of health protection condition of the base is now Bravo.
Base staff are encouraged to follow the Guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and avoid large gatherings, limit close contact with others, and maximize social distance and personal hygiene.
Base management is continuously monitoring the situation and is working with the Louisiana Department of Health to provide information on the base, protect families on the base and prevent the spread of the virus.
